In addtion to the Account Attribute Import, there are a couple of other ways that changes can be made to Net Accounts.
Through the User Interface
One way to make changes to all of the accounts in a net account would be to make them through the User Interface (UI) by navigating to Accounts > Account Bulk/Mass Update (for attribute changes) or Accounts > Account Ownership (for ownership changes).
Type in the complete Net Account name in the Acct Name search field and click Search + Mass Update.
This will pull back all of the accounts with the same name as the Net Account, so be sure to only check the checkboxes of the accounts that are part of the Net Account to be updated.
Use the Select Attribute dropdown to choose the attribute to be updated for all of the accounts. The available attributes to be changed are Key Account, ZBA, Risk Rating, Reconcilability, Preparer Due Days, Reviewer Due Days, Approver Due Days, Analysis Preparer Due Days, Analysis Reviewer Due Days, Analysis Approver Due Days and the Flux Rule. The Rec Form attribute is not able to be changed using the Mass Update selection.
Once the attribute to be changed is selected, choose or enter what the new attribute should be and click on Save.
Net Account Update Import
Go to Data > Data Import and select the Data Import Type of Net Account Update Load. The template will be available to be downloaded on the right hand side of the screen.
Just like with all of the import tempates, this one will need to be updated for the number and name of account keys in your setup.
You can go to a recent successful GL or Account Attribute import to see what those are or go to System Control > Rules and Checklists and scroll to the Account Unique Key Selection section to see what they are. In this example, we have on Key Account and it should be labeled 'Co'. Any other key account columns not used should be removed.
To ADD or REMOVE an account from the Net Account, fill in the Net Account Name, GL Account #, GL Account Name, Key Account (Co), and in the ACTION column, type Add or Remove depending on the action to be taken. A row for each account to be added to or removed from the Net Account should be assigned.
To MODIFY an existing Net Account for attributes or owners, only one of the constituent accounts needs to be set up in the Net Account Update Load Template. The changes made to this one account will also automatically affect the rest of the accounts making up the Net Account.
Once the import template is completed, save it and go to Data > Data Import and select the Data Import Type of Net Account Update Load from the dropdown. Enter a Profile Name and click on 'Select' to browse for the saved file. Then click on 'Upload'.
Once the file is successfully processed and imported, the changes will have been made to all of the accounts in the Net Account.
