How to set up or replace a user for all accounts belonging to someone else from within the UI?

If the number of accounts being updated doesn't exceed 250, you can make this change within ART and without the need for an import.

Go to Accounts > Account Ownership

Start typing in the name of the primary rec owner, the preparer in the Account Owner field and ART will pull up anyone whose name starts with what you've typed

Select the name of the person whose reconciliations need to be assigned to someone else or to someone in a different role and click on Search + Mass Update.

ART will pull back all of the accounts belonging to the person selected. Check the checkboxes for all or some of the accounts depending on which you want to update.  That will allow you to make a change.  At the bottom of the screen, select the role that you want to update.

For example, if we wanted to update all of the accounts belonging to Amanda Prep so that the backup preparer should now be Chad Prep, we would select the correct role from the drop down and then start typing in Chad's name until we are able to select it from what ART provides.  Then we will click 'Save'.
