ART can automatically reconcile accounts using logical rules embedded in the system. These rules allow ART to automatically reconcile accounts if they meet the logic to do so.
We recommend setting the rules in a Not Started period. Go to System Control > Rules and Checklists > SRA Rules Selection. Click the checkboxes for the rules to be enabled (see screenshot). They will start running in that period and those settings will carry forward to future periods until changed. The rules that are available are described below:
SRA #1 - Zero balance accounts (with 0 balances): Enabling this rule will allow ART to automatically reconile accounts that have an ending adjusted balance of $0 as long as that account also has been assigned the ZBA attribute.
SRA #2 - Immaterial accounts - accounts that are below the established materiality: Enabling this rule will allow ART to automatically reconcile accounts that have an ending adjusted balance that is at or below the established materiality threshold as set in System Control > Capabilities Activation > Materiality. If the capability for Materiality has not been enabled, then the checkbox to turn on SRA Rule #2 will be greyed out as unavailable.
SRA #3 - Subledger matches to GL where the variance is below unexplained variance threshold: Enabling this rule will allow ART to automatically reconcile accounts using the subledger form that have subledger data imported when the sum of that data ties to the adjusted ending GL balance if the unexplained variance is at or below the unexplained variance threshold as defined in System Control > Capabilities Activation > Unexplained Variance, providing that there are no adjustments, timing differences and write-offs in the reconciliation.
SRA #4 - Net Accounts where the variance is below unexplained variance threshold: Enabling this rule will allow ART to automatically reconcile net accounts if the unexplained variance is at or below the unexplained variance threshold as defined in System Control > Capabilities Activation. If the capability for Net Accounts is not enabled, then the checkbox to turn on SRA Rule #4 will be greyed out as unavailable.
SRA #5 - There is no change in the GL balance and unexplained variance from the last reconcilable period: Enabling this rule will allow ART to automatically reconcile any account where the ending adjusted GL balance has not changed from the prior period, to the extent prior period has been reconciled, and the current period’s unexplained variance is at or below the unexplained threshold as defined in System Control > Capabilities Activation. This is also provided that there is no content in the Adjustments, Timing Difference or Write-Off/On sections in the reconciliation form.
SRA #6 - Supporting detail matches to GL where the variance is below or equal to the unexplained variance threshold (Accrual Form and Amortizable Balance Form): Enabling this rule allows ART to system reconcile an account when the general ledger balance agrees to the sum of the support in the reconciliation form, as long as the unexplained variance is within the tolerance threshold as defined in System Control > Capabilities Activation, that there are no open items (Adjustments, Timing Differences, Write-Offs), and that the Accrual Form or the Amortizable Balance Form is assigned to the account.
